A partial lane closure begins Monday (March 13) in the 2700 block of Bienville Street that will extend from White Street into the North Broad Avenue intersection.
This closure will remain in effect until Friday, March 31, at 5 p.m.
Crews with Department of Public Works construction contractor Hard Rock Construction completed subsurface utility work in this area, and the closure will allow for crews to permanently restore the street.
The roadwork is part of the $24.4 million Mid-City Group B Project. Signage and traffic control measures, such as barricades and fencing, will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians to the safest route of travel.
The Mid City Group B Infrastructure Improvement Project consists of removing, replacing and repairing existing water, sewer and drainage lines, repaving the roadways, installing new sidewalks as necessary and installing American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at all intersections.
The project is currently scheduled to begin wrapping up in the fall.
