
A double shooting that injured a 15-year-old and an armed carjacking were reported on Mid-City streets over the weekend.
The carjacking occurred Sunday night (March 12) in the 300 block of South Rendon, near Palmyra Street, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
Five men approached a 19-year-old man in a white 2011 Chevy Camaro at about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday.
One of the carjackers hit the victim in the back of the head with a handgun before they fled in the victim’s Camaro, police said.
Two people, including a teenage boy, were injured in a drive-by shooting early Saturday on Clark Street near Tulane Avenue.
At about 12:15 a.m., the victims, ages 15 and 21, were in a car in the 700 block of Clark when they heard gunfire, police said.
They realized they were struck as they drove away and crashed the vehicle. Emergency Medical Services transported them. to the University Medical Center.
