Woman injured in shooting while stopped at light on Tulane and Norman Francis

A woman driving on Tulane Avenue early Saturday (Sept. 10) stopped for a red light at Norman C. Francis Parkway. She left the intersection in an ambulance.

At about 3:45 a.m., a passenger in another vehicle fired shots at the 47-year-old driver, striking her multiple times, the New Orleans Police Department reported.  Medical responders brought her to the hospital.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD First District station at 504-658-6010 to speak to a detective, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
