Two people were shot to death Tuesday night (Aug. 3) in the Tulane-Gravier area, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
First District officers responded to a call of shots fired at 9:12 p.m. near Perdido and South Dorgenois streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man and a woman in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the male victim as Lamont Lee, 25, and the female victim as Jamie Johnson, 27.
Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence in the double homicide. No further information is available at this time.
