The NOPD arrested Robert J. Scott, 31, on Tuesday (July 27) in the investigation of a homicide on June 28 in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street, near Tulane and South Carrollton avenues.
At about 4 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. They found one male victim on Ulloa Street suffering from a gunshot wound.
A second male victim was located soon after near Tulane and South Carrollton and having also sustained a gunshot wound.
The first victim was transported via EMS to local hospital, where he died. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified him as Daquan Fountain. He was 23.
The second victim was also transported via EMS to a local hospital. A third male victim in this incident was not injured.
Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed Scott as a suspect. An arrest warrant was obtained for Scott on one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Detectives learned that Scott had been arrested and was being held in Webster Parish. He was extradited back to New Orleans, where he was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center. Scott remained jailed Thursday (July 29) on $70,000 bond.
