The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Barry Causey, 21. He is a suspect in an attempted second degree murder that occurred on May 1.
At about 4 a.m., two men were arguing inside a car in the 200 block of South Bernadotte Street, near St. Patrick Cemetery. When one of the men got out of the vehicle, the other fired shots at him.
The victim was struck by the bullets and transported to University Medical Center by the Emergency Medical Service. In the incident report released May 1, the NOPD stated officers did not know the identity of the victim but knew the suspect’s identity.
Causey is believed to be armed and dangerous, the NOPD said.
