A shooting at Banks Street and South Carrollton Avenue on the night before Easter claimed a man’s life, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
At 11:06 p.m. on Saturday (April 3), NOPD Third District officers responded to a reports of multiple shots fired at the location near Jesuit High School.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The Emergency Medical Service transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police first reported the shooting at 11:40 p.m. At 12:55 a.m. on Sunday (April 4), police said in an email that the victim had died and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
