A multi-krewe Carnival parade — without the bands, dance troupes or the riders — rolled into City Park on Tuesday for the “Floats in the Oaks” fundraiser event that began Thursday and will run through Sunday, Feb. 14.
“Floats in the Oaks” lets visitors to view iconic floats from their favorite Mardi Gras krewes all in one place, and it will give Carnival revelers the opportunity to experience a part of Mardi Gras during this strange and historic season. Revelers will do the rolling this year, viewing stationary floats from their cars. The response has been overwhelming, according to reports, and tickets are now sold out.
