NOPD arrests suspect in Mid-City auto burglary

The NOPD has arrested Terrica Jones, 36, in the investigation of an auto burglary on Jan. 20 in Mid-City.

At about 7:40 p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to an auto burglary in the 4300 block of Bienville Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who observed someone rummaging through his vehicle.

Officers were given a description and later identified Jones as a suspect. During the arrest, Jones was also discovered to be in possession of a handgun concealed inside her waistband and an additional handgun concealed in a backpack.

Jones was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of auto burglary, illegal carrying of a firearm and other charges. She remained jailed Tuesday on $14,500 bail.

She has another pending case in Orleans Parish on burglary, weapons and drug charges, Sheriff’s Office records show.
