A woman was carjacked at gunpoint Friday in the Parkview neighborhood, the New Orleans Police Department reported.
The 29-year-old woman was getting out of in her car in the 900 block of Wilson Drive, near Delgado Drive, at about 4 p.m. when two young men approached. One jumped in the passenger seat, and the other held a firearm and ordered her out of the car. She complied.
The carjackers drove off in her white 2018 Toyota RAV4. It has a temporary tag: 19169581.
This is the fourth reported carjacking or vehicle theft in the Mid-City area during the past month in which a woman driving alone was targeted.
A woman was carjacked on Jan. 3 outside the Rouses Market on North Carrollton Avenue. On Jan. 12 at about 1 a.m., a woman was carjacked by three armed men near Bayou St. John. The next day, at about 5:30 a.m., a woman averted a vehicle theft on Bienville Street near North Lopez and was punched in the face.
