The producers of Voodoo Music + Arts Experience will present a three-part concert experience in July, featuring New Orleans artists and, interestingly, an audience in cars. As Voodoo’s 2020 festival has been cancelled, its producers (C3 Presents) are finding new ways to offer live music experiences.
The NOLA Drive-In Summer Concert Series will take place at The Lakefront Arena on Fridays: Tank and The Bangas on July 10, Galactic ft. Anjelika Jelly Joseph on July 17, and The Revivalists on July 24.
Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, June 24 at 10 a.m., payable via PayPal or Venmo. GA and VIP Car Passes will be available, with VIP allowing access to the first two rows of spaces closest to the stage.
Keeping the audience safe
Each car will get a 20ft by 7ft parking space, enough for tailgating outside of the car, plus a six-foot buffer to keep everyone at a safe social distance during the show.
Restroom facilities will be dispersed throughout the venue. Everyone must wear a mask and must maintain a social distance of no less than 6 feet while traveling to and from the facilities. Each row will have assigned restrooms and a set walking path to limit contact. Staff will sanitize door handles after each use and each restroom on a regular basis.
In addition to the large parking spaces and consistent restroom sanitation, other protocols include: contactless entry with hands-free ticket scanning, hand sanitizing stations throughout the concert area, and mask mandates for staff and guests outside of their parking spots.
