Teen injured in shooting on Bienville Street

A teenager was injured in a shooting Saturday morning on Bienville Street in Mid-City, the New Orleans Police Department reported.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, and the another male got into an altercation inside a store in the 2900 block of Bienville, near Gayoso Street, at about 10:45 on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The gunman chased the victim into the street and fired three shots — striking him in the right foot — before fleeing. The city’s Emergency Medical Service took the victim to University Medical Center.

No further information was immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD First District station at 504-658-6010 to speak to a detective, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
