Beignet Fest is all fried up and ready to go come October, as it’s moved to City Park Festival Grounds for the first time.

The annual festival features a plethora of restaurants and vendors all celebrating the city’s most iconic dessert. Beignets range from traditionally sweet to savory delicacies that feature seafood, cheese and more. Awards are given for best traditional, best sweet, best savory, and crowd-favorite beignets.

The fest also includes family-friendly activities in the Kid’s Village and local and regional music. This year’s lineup includes five performances from 10:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.

-10:45 a.m.: Hill Country Hounds
-12 p.m.: Imagination Movers
-1:45 p.m.: One Love Brass Band
-3:15 p.m. Brass-a-holics
-5 p.m.: Eric Lindell

Proceeds from Beignet Fest benefit the Tres Doux Foundation, which makes grants to local nonprofit organizations that provide accessible, quality programs for children with developmental delays.

The free party kicks off October 7, though VIP tickets will be available. Food and drink tickets can be purchased on-site for $1 each.

  1. The first Beignet Fest was downtown at Lafayette Square. The move to City Park is not a return.
