Community members celebrate Camp Bow Wow grand opening in Mid-City (photos)

Community organizations and councilmembers gathered on Wednesday morning (July 13) for the grand opening of Camp Bow Wow in Mid-City. Co-owners Angelle Crochet and The Bulldog’s Rusty White and Herb Dyer celebrated their success in bringing the national pet care franchise to the Lafitte Greenway area.

Camp Bow Wow Mid-City is located at 3301 Conti Street, within a block of the Lafitte Greenway, Jefferson Davis Bike Trail, and Bayou St. John.

Councilmembers Latoya Cantrell and Susan Guidry were in attendance to show their support for the new business, and Miss Zoe Evans, who raised and donated $5,000, received a plaque for her hard work. Other grand opening attendees included Sophie Harris, President of Friends of Lafitte Greenway, and Tim Levy, President of the Greater Mid-City Business Association (GMBCA).

“It’s a burgeoning area,” said owner Angelle Crochet when asked why they chose a location in Mid-City. “It’s fun, it’s trendy, it’s a great a mix of old and new.” Crochet also expressed how there’s no other facility like Camp Bow Wow in Mid-City.
