The continued use of the Mid-City-located Orleans Parish Temporary Detention Center will be discussed at a Criminal Justice Committee meeting Wednesday, according to Councilwoman Susan Guidry’s office.
The meeting, to be held at 1 p.m., will also include a presentation and discussion about the Municipal Court Community Alternatives Program, designed to get people with mental health problems out of the criminal justice system, according Guidry’s office.

What: The Criminal Justice Committee Chair Councilmember Susan Guidry has called a committee meeting on Wednesday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. Among the Agenda items scheduled to be heard at Wednesday’s committee meeting:
Presentation and discussion on the Municipal Court Community Alternatives Program to divert persons with mental health issues out of the criminal justice system.
