The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two fatal shootings from last night, including the death of a 28-year-old man on North Johnson and Bienville streets
Around 11:33 p.m., First District officers responded to a call of a shooting at North Johnson and Bienville streets. When officers arrived they found a 28-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the rear seat of a black Honda Civic. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
A brief time later, officers learned a 26-year-old male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, it was identified that the two shooting incidents were connected, police said.
Investigation into this incident is ongoing and no further information is available at this time, police said. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the two deceased victims and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
