The Greater Mid-City Business Association (GMCBA) will host their Annual State of Mid-City Luncheon on Tuesday, March 21 at The Cannery, located at 3803 Toulouse Street.
City officials scheduled to appear and/or speak include Councilwoman Susan Guidry, a representative from the office of Councilwoman Latoya Cantrell, and Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Featured speakers will talk about the state of the Mid-City neighborhood and the business in it. Other invited organizations include NOPD First and Third Districts, Mid-City Neighborhood Organization, Bayou Boogaloo, and Friends of Lafitte Greenway.
For the first year, GMCBA will also award a Business of the Year and Businessperson of the Year. Winners will be announced during the event. Nominees include:
- Business of the Year: The Broad Theater, Friends of Lafitte Greenway, Krewe of Endymion, Mark’s Mid-City Service Station, Mothership Foundation (Bayou Boogaloo), and New Orleans Redevelopment Fund
- Businessperson of the Year: Councilwoman Susan Guidry, Sophie Harris (Friends of Lafitte Greenway), Justin Pitard (Avery’s on Tulane), Jay Nix (Parkway Bakery & Tavern), and Pauline & Stephen Patterson (Trèo)
