Friends of City Park takes over the Arbor Room at Popp Fountain from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, September 16th for their daring fundraiser, Martini Madness! This martini tasting features more than 25 specialty martinis, from classics to one-of-a-kinds! Sip on a Basil Lemon Drop with Henricks Gin, Summer Thyme Blues with Absolut Mandarin, or Cucumber Lime with Svedka Q-Cumber.
Looking for a good old classic? Don’t worry, they got you covered with a ‘make your own martini’ station, where you can choose your own vodka or gin. In addition, 25 local restaurants, including Apolline, Café Henri, Bacchanal, Canal Street Bistro, Manhattanjack, will be serving up samples of their delectable cuisine to ensure a happy belly!
Proceeds will benefit the renovation of the building that houses the New Orleans City Park Police. This structure has had minimal improvements since it was built in the 1920’s and is located between Victory Avenue and Dreyfous Drive. Other projects this event has helped fund include the City Park food truck, Ladybug Rollercoaster station, a new train car for the iconic miniature train, Popp Fountain improvements, the upcoming Marconi bike path, and many more capital projects over the past thirteen years.
