Santa hats, sexy elf outfits and ugly sweaters populated Mid-City bars Wednesday night as local watering holes celebrated the holiday season costume-style.

Holiday cheer flowed at both Pal’s Lounge, located on 949 North Rendon Street, and Finn McCool’s Irish Pub on 3701 Banks Street, as patrons enjoyed contests, Christmas music and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.

My House NOLA, a local event planning service, hosted a “Dessert Pigout and Ugly Sweater Party” at Finn McCool’s, where patrons showed up in their most garish holiday attire.

The costume party was held to promote local food truck vendors, including Beignet Roule, NOLA Pie Guy and Boo Koo BBQ & Burgers. The winners of the contest received free chocolate pies from the Pie Guy.
