Morris Jeff Community School to hold Art Auction on March 2 to benefit the school

Morris Jeff Community School will hold its First Annual Art Auction benefitting the school, to be held Saturday, March 2nd from 5-7 PM at the Marigny Opera House at 725 Ferdinand Street in the Faubourg Marigny.

The event will feature Guest Auctioneer John Calhoun and more than twenty pieces of art by prominent local and nationally acclaimed artists including photographers Josephine Sacabo, S. Gayle Stevens, Jennifer Shaw, Bob Compton, David Armentor, Aaron Farrington, Hannah Neal, Sesthasak Boonchai, Nicolette Potter, Kyle Roberts, Wanda Boudreaux, Jered Widmer, Mamta Popat, and artists Frenchy, Elizabeth Shannon, Mark Morris, Robert Guthrie, Allie Siegel, Tim Phillips, Violet Skye, and Ashley Bell. Pieces include original photography, blown glass, a Mardi Gras mask and headdress, fine art prints, handmade playing cards, and original paintings and drawings.

Proceeds from the benefit will go to improvements in Morris Jeff’s library and playground, implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and continued development of its Early Childhood program.
