After taking $16.50 from a man at gunpoint, 20-year-old Corey Kinard is now facing armed robbery charges, police say.

On Feb. 10, Kinard pushed a man up against a vehicle near the intersection of North Lopez Street and St. Philip Street in the Bayou St. John neighborhood and robbed him at gunpoint, police say. He was arrested later that night, according to records from the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Kinard is being held in Orleans Parish Prison and court records show his bond is set at $150,000.

First District Sergeant Troy Williams said police believe Kinard may have played a role in two armed robberies on the 2700 block of Orchid Street in the last two weeks of January.

“His description fit the other two cases,” said Williams.

In a different armed robbery, police have arrested two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, said Officer Garry Flot.

All three have been charged with attempted armed robbery in the Feb. 11 robbery on the 2800 block of Grand Route St. John, Flot said.

Police did not release the juvenile’s names.
