Store owner’s tip leads police to suspect in Bienville armed robbery

Police arrested 26-year-old Anthony Fields Sunday evening after a store owner spotted him and called police, according to a police report.

Fields was wanted in connection with an armed robbery on Bienville Street.

Police arrived at the intersection of Tulane Avenue and South Jefferson Davis Parkway about 5:30 p.m. Sunday and when Fields saw officers he began to run, the report states.

Officers arrested Fields on the 500 block of South Jefferson Davis Parkway.

Fields is currently being held on several charges, including armed robbery, aggravated assault, resisting an officer and probation violation.
