New Orleans Police issued a warrant Monday for 26-year-old Anthony Fields in connection with last week’s armed robbery on the 3000 block of Bienville Street.

(January 3, 2013)- On Monday NOPD detectives issued a warrant for26-year-old Anthony Fields, who is wanted in connection for a December 29, 2012, business robbery which occurred in the 3000 block of Bienville Street.

Fields walked into the store earlier that morning around 9:15am. Fields produced a handgun and leaped across the counter and demanded cash from the store’s owner. The owner refused Fields demands at which time a struggle ensued. Fields struck the man several times in the head with the gun, and made off with $500 in cash. The incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance.

Detective Kelly Morel was able to positively identify Fields as the perpetrator of this crime from witness participation. Once apprehended Fields will be charged with one count of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Assault.

Fields has been previously arrested for multiple armed robberies with firearms, Flight from Officer, Criminal Trespass, Felon with a Firearm, Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Simply Robbery, Misrep of Name, Unauthorized Use of a Movable, Simply Burglary. Fields is currently on probation unit October 2014 for Simple Burglary.
